The Great Southern Land series celebrates the timeless beauty of Australia through spectacular natural inlays. This 2022 release features an Australia-shaped insert of blue lepidolite — a lithium-rich mineral found exclusively in Western Australia, long prized for jewellery and ornamentation. Natural variations in the stone mean no two coins are exactly alike.

The reverse of the coin encircles the blue lepidolite centrepiece with graceful native flora motifs. Designed by Aleysha Howarth, the design also includes The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, weight, purity and the 2022 year-date.

The obverse of the coin bears the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, together with the $1 monetary denomination.

The coin comes housed in a classic display case with a clear lid, set within a beautifully illustrated shipper, and is accompanied by an individually numbered certificate of authenticity attesting to its maximum mintage of just 5,000.
