Since 1991 the Giant Murray Cod has greeted travellers at Swan Hill railway station in Victoria — a fifteen-metre film prop turned beloved Big Thing. As part of the 2023 Aussie Big Things series, Australia Post and the Royal Australian Mint honoured the great fish with this limited edition cover from the Impressions range, individually numbered and limited to just 2,800 produced.

The cover holds the pad-printed coloured uncirculated Giant Murray Cod $1 coin designed by the Mint’s Aleksandra Stokic — the coloured coin was never released into circulation, making the numbered Impressions cover its principal collector home.

The obverse bears the memorial effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, inscribed “ELIZABETH II 1952 – 2022”.

The oversized cover features the $1.20 Giant Murray Cod stamp postmarked Swan Hill, Victoria, with gold-foiled postmark and edition numbering.
