2025 Great Southern Land $1 1oz Silver Proof Snakeskin Jasper Coin

$260.00
| /

The Great Southern Land series celebrates the timeless beauty of Australia through spectacular natural gemstone inlays. This 2025 release turns to the desert heart of the continent with an Australia-shaped insert of snakeskin jasper — a striking red and white banded stone from the Pilbara region of Western Australia, long admired for its calming and healing associations. Natural variations in the stone mean no two coins are exactly alike.

The reverse of the coin surrounds the jasper centrepiece with nine dwellers of the desert arranged clockwise — a cockatoo, dingo, taipan, thorny devil, desert ant, scorpion, bilby, bearded dragon and rock wallaby — set amid representations of sky, sand and rock. Designed by Aleysha Howarth, the design also includes The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, weight, purity and year-date.

The obverse of the coin bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, together with the $1 monetary denomination.

The coin comes housed in a classic display case with a clear lid, set within a beautifully themed shipper, and is accompanied by an individually numbered certificate of authenticity attesting to its maximum mintage of just 5,000.
