- Laurence Binyon, "For the Fallen"

At 11am on the 11th November each year, a minute's silence is observed to commemorate our war dead. This commemorative day - originally known as Armistice Day falls on the anniversary of the guns falling silent across the battlefields of World War!. Armistice Day was renamed in the wake of World War II to honour yet another generation of war dead.

The stamp on this limited edition postal and numismatic cover is from the Centenary of World War I: 1916 stamp issue: it depicts Australian troops returning to their billet from the frontline. The cover houses a 2016 $1 coin produced by the Royal Australian Mint. The coin recognises the Anzac spirit born on battlefields half a world away.

Features a commemorative $1 Stamp postmarked first day of issue 2 November 2016 Canberra ACT 2600
