Ten years after John M. Mercanti — former Chief Engraver of the United States Mint — designed his first Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle for The Perth Mint in 2014, the series marked its milestone anniversary with this striking coloured edition. Struck from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver and released in 2024, the coin also carries the P125 mintmark celebrating The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary, and is sold out at the Mint.

The reverse presents Mercanti’s magnificent wedge-tailed eagle soaring in full colour, its dark plumage set against a radiating sunburst field, with the inscriptions “AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE”, “10TH ANNIVERSARY” and the P125 mintmark.

The obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III with the monetary denomination.

The coin is presented on The Perth Mint’s illustrated collector card with a fold-out stand for upright display.
